Day 1: Revoking Orders Issued by the Predecessor
On January 20, 2025, on his first day in office,
President Donald Trump issued an executive order that
revoked 67 of the Biden administration's executive
orders. This included policies targeting climate change
and other mandates that were specifically criticized in
his campaign.
Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports
Trump signed an executive order banning transgender
athletes from women's sports. Titled "Keeping Men Out of
Women's Sports," the order mandated immediate
enforcement. Surrounded by female athletes at the
signing ceremony, Trump railed against what he called
"transgender lunacy." "Under the Trump administration,
we will defend the proud tradition of female athletes,
and we will not allow
men to beat up, injure and cheat
our women and our girls," Trump said.
Disrupting EU and NATO
The Trump administration blew up America's previous
approach to ending the war in
Europe by embracing
Russia. President Trump's anti-EU actions, including his
invitation to the President of Russia to negotiate over
Ukraine, have shocked war-supporting EU leaders and
disrupted the transatlantic alliance. Then, at the
Munich Security Conference, J.D. Vance, the
Vice-President, unleashed a
stinging attack on the EU's
anti-democracy practices.
